INSURING THEIR SPECIALIST CAPABILITIES

Hyperion are one of the world’s leading insurance intermediary group with over 3800 employees across Europe, the Middle East Asia Pacific and the Americas. When specifying the network infrastructure for its new offices in Creechurch Place, London, Hyperion decided on a high performance cabling solution from Datywyler. Cordless Consultants worked with ExcelRedstone, (Datwyler certified Installers) and iDAC Solutions (the exclusive source of Datwyler products in the UK&I), to deliver the project.

Work started in September 2018 and approximately 9000 Cat6A copper links were installed across 8 floors (5785 outlets and 3317 harness links), as well as an OM4 fibre backbone. Datwyler’s angled panels were used on the project, as they offered superior patch lead management without the need for additional cable management panels (which add cost & reduce rack density).

Excelredstone used velcro ties and cable tray ‘waterfall’ fittings to prevent kinks in the cable, ensuring the integrity of the high performance cabling system was maintained.

Paul Hunter, Technical Director at iDACS, visited site several times as part of the Datwyler System warranty certification process; initially to ensure engineers were trained & familiar with the product, then after to check progress and offer guidance. Paul also visited site towards the end of the project to witness test and inspect the final installation.

On completion in December 2018, installers ExcelRedstone submitted their test results for warranty certification. They were checked and processed by iDACS on behalf of Datwyler and the site was certified in January 2019.

As an eligible Datwyler warrantied site, Hyperion will be offered a free MoT review 3 years from the initial installation certification,
then every 4 years until the warranty expires, as part of the exclusive iDACS Network ‘MoT’.
